Will You Go The Distance: Around The Bay 2018

Let’s Go the Distance this Spring!

Walkers, runners and cyclists are stretching their generosity while training to go the distance for

St. Joe’s by fundraising in two signature events this spring: the Around the Bay Road Race (ATB) on March 25 and Paris to Ancaster: A Ride for Research (P2A) on April 29. Their commitment to our Hospital will make an impact on exceptional patient care and innovative research right here in our community!

Visit stjoesfoundation.ca for more information about donating and to make a difference by going the distance for your community.

Will you join in and go the distance?

The 5k ATB route is popular for walking and running or, if you’re looking for a bigger challenge, ramp it up with a 15k relay or run the full 30k route. Choose P2A’s fun 20k family ride for a a lighter cycling experience, or take on the more ambitious 70k and 40k distances. Or maybe you’ll donate in support of a participant and cheer them on from the sidelines. There are so many ways to go the distance for St. Joe’s!

This year’s ATB Community Champion is going the distance, and then some! Joseph Mancinelli, of Team LiUNA, broke all the fundraising records last year and became our biggest ATB fundraiser to-date! Joe and the LiUNA team hope to surpass their previous fundraising efforts as part of their commitment to giving back and supporting all that St. Joe’s does for their families, friends and community.

Whenever the community needs St. Joe’s the most, our Hospital and staff go the distance for the good health of us all. However you choose to help – we thank you for it!

Funds Raised from ATB & P2A Make a Difference for Many

Funds raised through last year’s events saw the roll-out of vital mental health and addiction programs for youth referred to St. Joe’s Youth Wellness Centre, and made available surgical equipment to complete more innovative robotic cancer surgery procedures. Dollars raised also funded research in the area of life-saving kidney transplantation, novel palliative care approaches, like the 3 Wishes Program in our Intensive Care Unit, and in lung health, an area of world-renowned expertise at St. Joe’s.
